Harold Dorn-Zoning Petition#6456
The remaining 40 acre parcel is divided into 2 parts. The first part is wild
"canary" grass that is sometimes cut for bedding for animals, but often is left wild
as cover for the local fauna. The remaining 20 acres is recreational land with a
pond that is often used for hunting, fishing, or just enjoying.
Diagram B
approximate scale
Recreational Canary
Land Grass
pond v Existing
Ease ent(33 ft) Ride Road
New Easement
(66 ft)
New Homesite
(Approx 1 acre)
The objections voiced so far are about the "odd shape" of this land. Let us address
these and any other objections here.
-Is the re-zoning a legal split of this land? -YES
-Is the re-zoning destroying any wildlife habitat?-NO. In fact the
re-zoning is designed to save habitat by placing the home out of the
habitat area.
- Is the re-zoning ruining prime agricultural land?-NO. Most of the land
affected is already a dirt road leading from Ridge Rd. to the 40 acres.
If the re-zone was not granted, the majority of the land being re-
zoned would still be joined to the 40 acres as right of way. The
remaining 3/4 of an acre has been used as agricultural land but is
poor quality as it is on a rocky crest of a hill.
- Is the re-zoning creating an"odd shaped"parcel?-NO. The shape is
dictated by the current county laws regarding zoning.
Overall, then, you can clearly see that this request for re-zoning is legal and
appropriate. We request your approval.
page-2
