DISCUSSION REGARDING NEW TOWN HALL SITE: At the last annual meeting, the
Town approved the Hoepker Rd site. Because of the Sun Prairie annexation, it is no
longer a possibility. Focus should be on not only the building plans, but the location of
the site and the size of the parcel . Babler stated that must keep in mind future
expansion options of not only the design of the building , but the size and type of land it
sits on. Krisher stated that although it is not required, should make the site multi
functional i.e. a park or recreational facility. Wiganowsky questioned the status of the
Hoepker Rd. site. Does it get surplused and sell it ? Walters questioned whether water
and sewer line availability should be taken into consideration. All agreed would not be
a factor. Burke school site is too small. Pumpkin Hollow school site had too many
problems associated with it, so ruled it out. Possible site at landfill location off Reiner
Rd. Is 43 acres, and has been declared a park.
Wiganowsky made a motion to limit the search to a parcel not less than 10 acres .
Second by Franz. Walters complimented Bricker on a well written
document. Bricker stated the strategy for the future holds two options. One- the urban
service area- a plan for long range or do the use plan with the intention of trying to
solve a problem. Many group discussions and side conferences between members
ensued.
Bricker will make sure changes are completed on the maps and in certain verbiage, as
outlined by various members.
Will hold a Public Hearing on March 13, 1996 to hear comments on the proposed plan.
Bricker stated because of a court case, Lake City Glass Vs Mequon, the next project
the Planning Commission should under take is to get an updated "OFFICIAL" Town
map.
ADJOURNMENT: Motion by Babler to adjourn at 11:00p.m. Second by Kempfer.
Motion carried unanimous.
Amy Volkmann
DeputyC lerk/Treasurer
2
