HURLEY, BURISH & MILLIKEN, S.C.
Committee Members
Page 2
April 22, 1996
that parking spaces be designated in the amount of one space for
every two members of both clubs, or 41 spaces.
2 . Driveway access. Emergency access to the property is
also a concern. Apparently the Town of Verona is considering
standards for road access. The town in the process of
recommending access roads have a road bed of 24 feet in width to
accommodate emergency vehicles. My clients believe this is an
important concern which should be addressed as well.
3 . NRA Review and Recommendations. My clients have
submitted to the committee the report of Richard Thompson,
forensic firearms expert. His recommendations are based on the
NRA standards for rifle range safety. In the interest of
promoting safety, my client is also willing to pay for the
National Rifle Association to send in an area range technician to
examine the rifle range and make safety recommendations. The
cost of this review is $750 . 00 per day plus mileage for non-
members, and if the rifle club has any National Rifle Association
members, the price is $300 . 00 per day. The National Rifle
Association estimates that the review would take one day. They
have also indicated that a final report could be available in 4-6
weeks.
My clients do not believe that a range of any type could
safely operate on Mr. Denner's property. However, if a range
must be operated next door, they believe these recommendations
are reasonable, appropriate and necessary for this location.
Sincerely,
HURLEY, BURISH & MILLIKEN, S.C.
Kris ine A. ong
KLO:rlr
9602300
Enc.
CC: Lyman Anderson
Philip Salkin
John Hendrick
Kevin Kesterson
Karen Kornwell
James Van Deurzen
Brian Butler
