Mitby
Axley Brynelson
2 East Mifflin Street
Madison, Wisconsin 53701-1767
Dear Mr. Mitby:
I have reviewed your letter to Jane Coleman at the Madison Community Foundation dated
October 21. As president of the Wisconsin Sports Authority,I wanted to write you to
officially endorse your soccer plan for Madison and give it our'stamp of approvaL'
In April,ground-breaking ceremonies took place for the new Wisconsin Soccer
Association soccer complex in Franklin. It will be a S4 million,92-acre complex that will
house an indoor facility and 20 outdoor fields. Wisconsin has always put the concerns
. of our children first and new sports complexes like this one in Franklin prove our state's
commitment to youth. A new soccer facility in Madison will not only create opportunities
for youth but it will stimulate new business growth and economic development as well as
provide new jobs. A soccer complex in Madison would be an all encompassing
community asset.
The Wisconsin Sports Authority operates in partnership with the State of Wisconsin to
promote the value of sports growth in Wisconsin by acting as an"authority"on the
economic impact, visibility, and quality of life issues associated with sports. We are
committed to fostering sports growth throughout the state. If there is anything that the
WSA can do to further your efforts please give me a call.
Best of luck to you and the soccer community in Madison.
S'..:, ly/
/ ident ' /
