"11 <br /> owner states that for years the production of agricultural cash crops on a large area 0: <br /> this property has been a problem because of the amount of water flooding the low area, <br /> interfering with planting, growth and harvest. The property has been ditched and dead <br /> furrowed to try and drain excess runoff to improve the farming practice. filing or <br /> ditching would be necessary to do a complete job and all runoff would be directed irt,, <br /> Bass Lake drainage system. I he depression areas are classified as farmed Wetland. <br /> Prior Converted Farmed Wetland, and Wetland by the National Resource & <br /> Conservation Service. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will not allow <br /> ditching or tiling any longer in these areas without permits. <br /> This project was considered by the last two previous land owners. one of whom is <br /> in a nursing home and the other who passed away on June 30, 1995. Other alternative <br /> considered previously were a large dairy or hog operation. 'I he golf course would be <br /> inure ecurioriiic and asthetic. <br /> The owner will start construction of the project when and if the necessary <br /> permits can be obtained from the Corps of Engineers, Department of Army, Wisconsin <br /> Department of Natural Resources, Dane County and Town of Rutland.
