•
We therefore request to be rezoned as recreational property. We would also like to add to our
proposed use statement. We would like to use the property for trap, skeet and sporting clay
ranges, as well as archery ranges. The property shall be limited to shotgun shooting only and
shotgun shooting only with target loads. Hiawatha Gun Club keeps all of its thrown and broken
targets well within the boundaries of its property lines.
Hiawatha Gun Club recognizes public concerns about rifle ranges and we concede that the
property is not conducive to rifle shooting of any kind. Therefore Hiawatha Gun Club will not
allow rifled shotgun slugs, any rimfire or centerfire ammunition to be fired on the property by
any shotgun, rifle or handgun. Hiawatha Gun Club promotes the safe handling of firearms used
for hunting by hosting Hunter's Safety Programs in conjunction with Wisconsin Department of
Natural Resources and stresses compliance with DNR rules and regulations.
Within the Conditional Use Permit, we hereby apply for a permit to include malt beverages if
required by Dane County. Hiawatha Gun Club has received licenses for the sale of malt
beverages from the Town of Vienna since 1970 and it has now come to our attention that we may
need additional approval from Dane County. It is our desire to seek full compliance in this
matter with the County as well.
Should you have any questions on this matter, you may contact Mr. David Shaw who is
representing Hiawatha Gun Club in this rezone matter. Mr. Shaw can be reached at (608)
242-1621.
Sincerely,
cs&kt‘MA, Qt1C4J dar
Luther Cook
Board of Directors Chairman
Hiawatha Gun Club
Z,9.11\.w UtOtA3
