• FW: Shoreland zoning permit review - Hilbert, Hans Page 3 of 6
From: Hilbert, Hans
Sent: Monday, January 11, 2016 9:43 AM
To: 'Michael C. Wussow'
Cc: Tuggle, Jason
Subject: RE: Shoreland zoning permit review
Mike,
The replacement of the asphalt with a pervious paver would work to get you back under 15%, however it would
still require a shoreland mitigation plan/permit. I'll let Jason chime in on what is most feasible given that the
vegetation buffer zone exists and there is a relatively small amount of impervious surface putting you over 15%.
Hans
From: Michael C. Wussow [mailto:mcwussowCagmail.com]
Sent: Monday, January 11, 2016 9:34 AM
To: Hilbert, Hans
Cc: Tuggle, Jason
Subject: RE: Shoreland zoning permit review
Hi Hans,
Thanks for the response.
Hans and Jason,
I had my architects run the numbers within 300' of the lake. Below is the information they came back
to me with. Jason I will give you a call to discuss.
"If you look at Phase 1 only(excludes screen porch and Ground floor additions)
Then you have 58,649 SF of lot within 300' of the lake. Of that you will have 8,701 SF of impervious surface for a
ratio of 14.8%This includes the existing wood deck.
If you include the Phase 2 (Screen porch and Ground Floor addition) you have 9,888 SF of impervious surface for
a ratio of 16.8%
You do have 2,681 SF of impervious asphalt pavement within 300' of the lake. You might want to inquire if
replacing a minimum 1,100 sf with permeable pavers which would take you under the 15%(post construction)
be an option to avoid the shoreland mitigation permit. They might only require the pavers when the phase 2 is
built which would push the impervious surface ratio over the 15%."
Best,
https://mail.countyofdane.com/owa/ 1/12/2016
