Wussow' Cc: Tuggle, Jason Subject: RE: Shoreland zoning permit review Mike, A number of new shoreland regulations had just been enacted when the 2013 permit was obtained. At the time there were some interpretations that needed to be made regarding whether or not a project required a full mitigation permit. The best that I can explain it is that after the initial review of the shoreland zoning permit the Zoning Administrator visited the site and determined that since the project was strictly restoration (no structural development)that he would waive the requirement. Could you let me know why the 2013 mitigation requirement was terminated by the Zoning administrator? Hi Jason, I will give you a call Monday morning to discuss the measures that need to be taken to secure the required permit. I know that the previous owner of the property(we bought the property July 15t 2015)did engage in a shoreland restoration project and as part of that project a vegetative buffer zone was created from 40 foot from and all the way to the ordinary high water mark across the entire 200' width of the property. We have maintained this vegetative buffer zone. I would think this shoreland mitigation activity would exceed what is required for this project.
