The Town of Oregon Planning Commission reviewed the Plan amendments including the
Text, the Map, and the potential rezoning of inconsistencies at their meeting of 26 Nov. and
acted favorably on these changes. The Town Board is scheduled to review these items on 2 Dec.
Consideration of the same material is scheduled for 3 Dec by the Dane County Zoning and
Natural Resources Committee. Assuming approval by these bodies we believe it is likely that
these amendments will be approved by the county Board of Supervisors prior to the end of
December 1996.
This consideration includes the lists for the areas which are currently RD on the Plan and A-1 Ex
A-3 on the current zoning map, these areas comprise approximately 800 acres. This
consideration includes the list of areas currently Transition on the Plan and A-1 Ex on the zoning
map, these areas comprise approximately 161 acres. This figure has been estimated and rounded
to the high side of the estimate. This consideration also includes the list of areas currently
Preservation on the Plan and A-3 on the zoning map, these areas comprise approximately 215
acres. Assuming approval by the Town and County we will take up these areas for rezoning
during the next 18 months.
The County Board of Supervisors approved the A-3 Transitional Zoning indicated on the map
which was previously submitted on November 21, 1996. This rezoning will become effective
upon publication not later than December 12, 1996.
I hope this addresses all of your questions on this matter.
L9d4u
Sidling
Director Dane County
