James Gregorius
January 18, 1996
Page Two
2. Proposal location, acreage and depth of total site or by
phase if applicable.
Applicant has submitted a conceptual mineral extraction
development plan for the project. The plan was prepared
by Habitex Surveyors and Planners and has previously been
before the Committee and Dane County Personnel on a
number of occasions. That map should be incorporated by
reference in the statements made concerning the proposed
location and acreage. Applicant further qualifies this
by making the following statements with respect to each
area:
Area I - Sec. 14, SE corner of SESW 15 acres - elevation
940' to 920' USGS deposit depth 50 ' to 70'
Area II - Sec. 14 SWSE and SE corner of NWSE 50 acres -
elevations 950' to 920' USGS deposit depth 50 to 80 feet
Area III- Sec 14, part of SESE and part of NESE 40 acres
- elevations 950' to 920 ' - deposit depth 50 to 80 feet
Area IV - Sec. 23 part of NENW 20 acres - elevation 950 '
to 930' - deposit depth 80 to 60 feet
3. Permanent or temporary facilities used in the process of
such structures, stockpiles, sediment basins, roads, etc.
It is anticipated that a scale house and office will be
located at the egress from the pit area and stockpiles
within the five to eight acre working area of the quarry.
The private road to be developed by applicant across
Section 23 to County Trunk Hwy B will be moved from 350
Koshkonong Drive to the edge of the Wisconsin & Power &
Light easement on the west side of Area II going south on
the west end of the sub-station and will join up with
existing animal husbandry roadways now being used by farm
owners to access the intersection of County Trunk Hwy B
and Hillside Road. This location will remove any problem
cited previously regarding disruption of farm operations
across Section 23, all of which are presently owned and
being operated by applicant.
Applicant also proposes a surface water management plan
under which applicant will direct and manage water from
the proposed quarry operation through a series of
retention ponds that would be created. Most water will
be directed to the same sub-drainage basins (tributary
24 N.
