Gunderman
Dane County Land Regulation & Records
Room 116, City-County Building
Madison, Wisconsin 53709
RE: LETTER OF TRANSMITTAL FOR A CONDITIONAL USE (HORSE BOARDING)
Dear Mr. Gunderman:
Enclosed, please find a Site Plan and check number 1109 in the amount of $100.00 (One
Hundred and No/100 Dollars) for the filing fee for a Conditional Use Permit. Also, please find the
Minutes from the Township of Medina giving unanimous preliminary approval for a Conditional
Use Permit for horse boarding, with acreage as needed on September 7, 1994 (see Attachment
B).
In response for information required for the filing of an application for a conditional use permit
in Dane County, please see the Site Plan for answers to questions 1 and 2.
The proposed use of the property will be for a horse boarding/training operation. The owners
desire to create a quality equestrian facility. The full functioning facility will capitalize on horse
boarding, training, riding lessons, grooming, conditioning, farriering, and breeding.
Other occasional horse related activities may include: horse club meetings, horse shows, horse
clinics, team pennings, horse sales and horse tack swaps.
Amenities to be offered include a spacious indoor riding arena, lighted outdoor riding arena
already on site, heated stall barn, cold stall barn, heated wash stall, outside wash stall, rest room,
two tack rooms, view/lounge room, round pens, horse walker, fencing and cross fencing for daily
turnout of horses, routine veterinary and farrier services, and 24 hour care with owner on
premises.
The time schedule for development will proceed upon government approval (weather permitting)
in the Fall of 1994 or in the Spring of 1995.
The property is suitable for our proposed use for the following reasons:
a.) The property has kept horses since the farm was homesteaded in the 1870's. It has
been used as a horse boarding facility from the 1950's through the early 1970's.
Horses have again been kept on the property since 1992 when the property was
purchased.
b.) The property abounds with established high quality forage and feed grains. The
smooth rolling pastures enrich in equestrian growth and muscle tone. There is
