Main Office
Location:2975 Kapec Rd.
Telephone: (608) 271-5555 Mailing: Poet Office Boa 44284
FAX: (608) 271-3142 WINGRA STONE COMPANY Madison, WI 53744-4284
CUrys
ROAD BUILDERS
"cam
ROAD CONSTRUCTION
ROCK PRODUCTS
REDI-MIX CONCRETE
Application for a Conditional
Use Permit for Mineral Extraction
Wingra Stone Company requests a Conditional Use Permit for Mineral
Extraction for the following property:
40 Acres described as the SWI of the NEg of Section 34
T9N - R11E, Dane County, Wisconsin.
As shown on the accompanying map this property is adjacent to the Wingra
Stone - Hanley Quarry which Wingra has been actively quarrying since the
middle 1950's. The forty acres is also adjacent to a quarry being operated
by Wolf Construction under a Conditional Use Permit.
Statement of Operation
This operation will be a limestone quarry which will be used for crushed
stones products for the construction of streets, roads, parking areas and
for coarse aggregate for concrete. Operation of this quarry will start in
the spring of 1995. Access to this quarry land will be directly through
the Hanley Quarry which we are now operating.
We request that this conditional use be open-ended so this limestone
may be use for as long as the resource lasts.
The 40 acres is presently being farmed and will continue to be farmed
in part as the quarry is opened. Use after the minerals are exhausted would
best be a commercial type development for industrial type warehousing, etc.
because the quarrying operation will produce a level type base for future
development. All final slopes will be in safe angle of repose as required
by Dane County Zoning.
WINGRA STONE COMPANY
Robert F. Shea
President
