Harbison Creek General Notes and Technical Specifications <br /> GENERAL NOTES <br /> 1. UTILITIES <br /> 1.1. The contractor shall be solely responsible for having utilities located prior to construction <br /> activities. <br /> 1.2. The contractor shall immediately contact the affected utility service to report any damaged or <br /> destroyed utilities. <br /> 2. CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS <br /> 2.1. Material volumes are estimates and subject to change based on field conditions and drying of <br /> sediments. <br /> 2.2. Exact location, alignment, and elevation of channel and channel bed and bank treatments <br /> subject to minor change based on field conditions. <br /> 3. CONSTRUCTION STAKING <br /> 3.1. The engineer shall assist the contractor in locating proposed treatments. Some adjustments to <br /> the lines and grades are to be expected. <br /> 4. BENCHMARK <br /> 4.1. Temporary project benchmarks relative to the assumed project datum have been installed by <br /> the engineer. Locations will be shown to contractor prior to notice to proceed.The contractor <br /> shall use these temporary benchmarks as the basis for verification of grades and supplement <br /> these as necessary to complete the work. <br /> 5. CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT& EROSION CONTROL <br /> 5.1. The contractor shall be solely responsible for providing erosion, sediment, and pollution control <br /> measures as shown in the plans. <br /> 5.2. Inspection of erosion controls: During construction, all erosion controls to ensure the erosion <br /> controls are working adequately. <br /> 5.3. If monitoring or inspection shows that the erosion controls are ineffective, mobilize work crews <br /> immediately to make repairs, install replacements, or install additional controls as necessary. <br /> 5.4. The contractor will ensure that the following materials for emergency erosion control are on- <br /> site. <br /> 5.4.1.A supply of sediment control materials (i.e.silt fence,straw bales, supersacks, etc.) <br /> 5.5. The contractor will submit name, address and 24 hour phone number of person responsible for <br /> erosion prevention and sediment control measures. <br /> 5.6. Contractor shall be solely responsible for complying with all applicable permit and regulations. <br />
