MAY 131994 <br /> May 11, 1994 U v <br /> LAND NEC. &icunos <br /> Dane County Zoning Department <br /> Room 116, City-County Building <br /> Madison WI 53709 <br /> RE: Zoning Petition i 5923 and Conditional Use Permit <br /> 1148 by Francis & Marilyn Gannon <br /> Dear Sirs, <br /> As property owners who's land is adjacent to Francis and Marilyn <br /> Gannon's property, we have concerns about the rezoning of their <br /> property from RH-2 to A-2 . And, more importantly, the issuance of <br /> a conditional use permit that would allow UNLIMITED livestock. <br /> We attended the Springfield Planning Commission meeting held on <br /> March 7, 1994. At this meeting, it was discussed and agreed to by <br /> all parties in attendance, that a recommendation would be made to <br /> rezone the property to A-2, with a conditional use permit. But, it <br /> was also discussed and agreed to by all parties that, the <br /> conditional use permit would be for horses only, and would limit <br /> the number of horses to 15. Even though we feel that 15 horses is <br /> too many for 7.9 acres of land, we felt this to be a fair <br /> compromise for all parties involved. (Note: since there is a house <br /> and barn located on this property, there are NOT 7.9 acres of land <br /> available for animal use. ) <br /> We urge you to take into consideration our concerns, before <br /> granting the rezoning from RH-2 to A-2, with a conditional use <br /> permit that would allow UNLIMITED livestock. <br /> 1. What is Francis and Marilyn Gannon's real intent? <br /> * 7 horses were sufficient before, but now they want <br /> unlimited animal units <br /> * This zoning allows for the operation of a riding <br /> stable, is this what they're planning? <br /> * This would probably mean a lighted riding area <br /> * A definite increase in noise, as well as <br /> traffic in the area <br /> * Where would people park? On Highway P? This <br /> Highway has a fair amount of traffic already. <br /> Parking on the shoulder would only mean <br /> increased danger. <br />
