(AMCI) <br /> Madison SMSA Limited Partnership <br /> Site: MAD-W00132 <br /> 3382 Meier Road <br /> Town of Blooming Grove <br /> Rezoning/Conditional Use Permit <br /> Dear Mr. Reynolds: <br /> I represent Ameritech Mobile Communications, Inc., (AMCI), the operational arm for Ameritech Mobile <br /> Communications of Wisconsin, Inc., the general partner in the Madison SMSA Limited Partnership. The <br /> Madison SMSA Limited Partnership is a public utility whose main business is providing cellular mobile <br /> telephone service to the public in the greater Madison Metropolitan Area. Their operations and facilities <br /> are licensed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and regulated by the Wisconsin Public <br /> Service Commission and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The current Madison cellular <br /> system encompasses more than 2,000 square miles ranging from the Dells on the North to Beloit on the <br /> South. There are currently 23 cells in operation with an additional 4 in planning. <br /> This letter concerns the construction of a "cell", the basic working unit of cellular technology, which, <br /> in this case, will consist of a 150' free-standing monopole with a 4' triangular steel deck for a total height <br /> of 154', together with an unmanned electronic telephone equipment shelter with approximate dimensions <br /> of 12' X 26' X 10 ' high. AMCI has chosen a site owned by Gordon and Ruth Hermsdorf, located at <br /> 3382 Meier Road, which has a zoning classification of A-1 (Exclusive Agriculture). AMCI is seeking <br /> to rezone a 1 acre parcel surrounding the lease parcel from A-1 (Exclusive Agriculture) to A-2 <br /> (Agriculture). AMCI is also seeking a Conditional Use Permit pursuant to the Dane County Code of <br /> Ordinances, Section 10.126, titled A-2 AGRICULTURE DISTRICT, paragraph (3) titled, Conditional <br /> Uses permitted in the A-2 District, Sub-paragraph (b) which allows the following: <br />
