Mr. Steve Reynolds
March 22, 1994
Page Two
"Radio, television transmitting towers, microwave towers, community television antenna
installations including the buildings or structures necessary for their operation but not including
buildings for offices, studios or the like."
Once construction is complete and the cell is integrated into the system of existing cells, visitation to the
structure by service personnel occurs on the average of once a month and consists of a single employee
arriving in a station wagon or a panel/van-type vehicle. This facility is entirely self-monitored and
connects directly to a central office where sophisticated computers alert personnel to any breach of
security or equipment malfunction.
This equipment facility does not endanger the public health, safety, comfort or general welfare.
Currently there are over 700 cellular telephone facilities in AMCI's five-state, midwest region, and their
operations do not affect other public transmissions, including radio, CB, television or public service
communications (police, fire, emergency, etc.). It should be noted that since the Chicago Metropolitan
system became operational on October 13, 1983, and since all subsequent systems have become
operational, including the Milwaukee, Madison, Janesville, Cincinnati, Detroit, Dayton, and Columbus
systems, AMCI has yet to experience a single instance where their transmissions have caused interference
with other forms of electronic transmissions or communications.
There will be no injurious effect to the use or enjoyment of any developed properties within the
immediate vicinity of the Ameritech facility, nor will there be any impedance of the orderly development
and improvement of the surrounding property.
Adequate access for utilities and ingress-egress to the site will be, or already is, provided and maintained.
Due to the infrequency of site visitation by AMCI personnel, there will be no impact on traffic in the
adjacent public thoroughfares.
A cellular telephone facility is an unmanned facility and accordingly, there will be no impact to the
existing traffic loads. This site is visited on the average of once or twice a month by service personnel
arriving in a panel/van type vehicle. This facility is entirely self-monitored and connects to a central
office where sophisticated computers alert personnel to any breach of security or equipment malfunction.
Enclosed please find 3 copies of the Site Plan and 1 copy of the Survey containing the Legal Descriptions,
a document outlining some of the Benefits of Cellular Technology, and a description of How Cellular
Works.
AMCI anticipates the following schedule of dates with Dane County:
Dane County Zoning and Natural Resources Committee - Public Hearing on May 10, 1994 at 7:30 PM.
Dane County Board of Supervisors Meeting - Rezoning Approval on June 16, 1994 at 7:30 PM.
Dane County Zoning and Natural Resources Committee - Work Meeting on June 28, 1994 at 7:30 PM.
Someone from my office will be contacting you in the next few weeks to confirm these dates and times.
