~ , ' "
September 9, 1994
Dane County Zoning Committee
Room 201
Martin Luther King Boulevard
Madison , Wisconsin
To Whom It May Concern
Re Duane Haag
I am writing this letter regarding the five car restriction
being considered for Duane Haag ' s Mechanic Shop.
I have taken my mini-van , on numerous occasions, for repair
to Duane Haag . I did not go there because I heard an ad on TV or
radio; I did not go because I found an ad in a newspaper for his
shop. I went there through word-of-mouth. The reputation of
this man ' s business is excellent. His business is growing by
leaps and bounds. This is a hard-working , honest and committed
business man . My car has always been completed on a timely
basis; there are going to be times when parts do not come in
right away; this is common for any car repair shop.
Why is it that Dane County would "punish" a good ,
hard-working business man like this by only allowing five cars on
the premise at any one time you might as well just put him out
of business. Where is the common sense in this
If there must be restrictions, then put a limit on the
length of time any one car can sit on the lot, or allow him to
put up a fence to hide all the cars that must sit while awaiting
parts. It seems to me that if the reasoning behind this is
because of "unsightly conditions, " then do it to all and take a
ride down the road and make everybody clean up !
Sincerely,
(1001 4c- 11647.q/qi -
Carol S.
