Many long and hard days later, this
business has grown to the point where expansion was necessary or
curtailment of service inevitable. A decision to expand and grow seemed
like the logical move. Land was purchased, a young mechanic student was
hired, building, sanitation, and driveway permits obtained, along with a
deed restriction of no more than five cars, trucks, or tractors at one
time. This deed restriction, which was so inconsequential when the
business was in its infancy, is the one thing that now means the
difference between success and failure for this growing business.
Customers cannot stop for appraisals and appointments, employee and
owners cannot park their own vehicles at the work place, suppliers
cannot service the business and financing for the project will be
curtailed because of the five vehicle limit restriction.
Common sense government ! Is it gone? Every young business needs some
of the same ingredients to grow and be successful. Some of these are
hard work, long hours, good luck, knowledge of the business and faithful
customers. The one thing any young business cannot tolerate is
restriction of growth and potential by outside agency. The Haag's are
not asking for State, County, or Local tax advantage programs. They
know their taxes will increase and intend on paying them. They do not
need a new highway interchange built on their behalf. They have a
driveway permit. They do not need a new sanitation pumping station
built for them. Their sewer and water are in and will be maintained by
them. They do not need any additional schools built on their behalf.
They intend on providing service to the schools and villages around
them.
Please, use some common sense when deciding this issue. Time and
resources by all parties, could be better spent on issues of higher
concern and importance. Remove the restrictions on this property and
start reaping the benetit that a growing viable business can bring to a
growing and viable Dane County.
Sincerely,
/_/ / j
411450Wt. .. 4111% / ' Or 12/1-a1Z--)
Starlle alai; ! ; (I,._ i ; 1 heis
