Fellow supervisors,
I want to call your attention to four zoning petitions on this
week's County Board agenda:
Sustaining Veto
F-1 6200 Jake Niesen's garden center and landscape business.
ountering the statement that "DNR has no problems", a letter
stating the concerns of DNR will be handed out at the meeting.
Someone may mention the recent five-car accident at the Stagecoach
Road intersection.
Re-referral
H-5 6212 Koua Vang. This would not violate our criteria. Denied
by the Town of Sun Prairie. Granted four lots by the Zoning
Committee. )(Chairman Anderson will ask separation and move re-
referral to await further Town Board comment.
Possible Veto
H-8 6221 Herrington. This perfectly legal A-2 residential lot is
proposed to be split in violation of the town plan (not
surrounded) . Although it is between Madison and Verona and
although the town intends to revise its plan, this should either
continue as a community separation area or await urban development
with full urban services. I will request separation and ask for
denial. Subject to a site visit, the County Executive is very
seriously considering a veto.
Possible Veto
H-19 6245 Kaltenberg These three lots to be split from an odd-
shaped field clearly violate the town plan. Neither is it
surrounded by similar development. This land is currently in row
crops, although the shape is awkward it is not inaccessible. I
will request separation and ask for denial. Subject to a site
visit, the County Executive is very seriously considering a veto.
These two possible vetoes are the first results of a new
procedure that Topf Wells is using for early identification and
clearer signals on zoning vetoes. Please call me with questions or
comments at 257-1409.
