Employes shall actively participate <br /> in the safety program. <br /> NOTE ITEM CODE _ - <br /> SECTION . <br /> On June 19, 1989, monitoring of Ahlgrimm Explosive's blasting t <br /> operations at Yahara Materials Company, Ziegler Quarry, Middleton, <br /> Wisconsin, continued. Monitoring was performed at the Spitz <br /> residence, which is approximately 2,500 feet South-Southeast of the <br /> blasting area. Vibration and Airshock (or Airblast) were monitored <br /> using the department's Instantel Seismograph, model DS-377, serial <br /> number 0309. The following is a summary of the date collected. <br /> Peak Vibration Measurements - Transverse, Vertical , and Longitudinal <br /> Peak Particle Velocities of 0.074 IPS at 35 Hz, 0.070 IPS at 25 Hz, <br /> • and 0.070 IPS at 7 Hz, respectively, were measured. The Peak Vector <br /> Sum (or Resultant Peak Particle Velocity) was 0.09 IPS. Transverse, <br /> Vertical , and Longitudinal Displacements of 0.00160 in. , 0.00115 <br /> in. , and 0.00199 in. , respectively, were also observed. A <br /> malfunction of the seismograph resulted in a Peak Sound reading that <br /> will not be accepted. <br /> Shot Information - This shot was composed of 8,322 pounds of <br /> explosives loaded into 56, 3 inch diameter, 60-65 foot deep drill <br /> holes, on a 8 foot by 8 foot pattern. The shot was detonated in a <br /> single deck, with a maximum charge weight of 162 pounds per delay. <br /> Weather at the time of the shot was 80 degrees F, sunny, clear r <br /> skies, and NE winds at 5-10 MPH.
