Application for a Conditional Use Permit in Dane County <br /> I. Legal description of the land: <br /> The N 933+ ' of W1/2 of NE1/4 of NE1/4 of Section 32 , <br /> Town of Middleton T. 7 .N. ,R. 8 . E. <br /> II. Tax parcel Number: 19-0708-321-8060-4 <br /> III. Filing Fee of $100. 00 is enclosed. <br /> IV. Proposed Use of the Land <br /> A. Background Information <br /> The previous owner, a polo player, had prepared 10 <br /> acres of the property (far northwest corner of the <br /> property) by seeding the area with durable, athletic <br /> grass seed to establish a polo field. The owner <br /> installed a white vinyl fence along the road side of <br /> the field (both on Valley View and Meadow) . This <br /> protects direct access to the roads from the field <br /> except at two gate locations which are kept closed <br /> during any field activity. The land on which the polo <br /> field exists is a low lying wetland which acts as a <br /> natural waterway in the spring of each year and during <br /> heavy rains. To use this land as a polo field means <br /> that it must be groomed weekly (in the spring the grass <br /> must be cut at least three times a week) and kept free <br /> of any debris. <br /> The new property owners have graciously allowed the <br /> Madison Polo Club to continue to use the field as long <br /> as the club abides by three conditions: (1) The <br /> field/land must be properly maintained, free of weeds <br /> and debris, and kept in top condition (seeded, <br /> fertilized, mowed, etc. ) ; (2) The club, its members and <br /> agents must have adequate insurance and sign liability <br /> waivers in order to use the field, and (3) The club, <br /> its members and agents must conduct its activities in a <br /> responsible, adult fashion to be courteous to the <br /> property owners and their neighbors. <br /> B. The Madison Polo Club <br /> 1. Practice. <br /> The Madison Polo Club currently consists of 15 <br /> members from various areas within Dane County. <br /> Members currently use the field to play polo, <br /> develop their horses for the game, teach others <br /> the game of polo and enhance their own polo skills <br /> and abilities. This is done by playing each <br /> other. We play on the field three to four days <br />
