MINUTES THE DANE COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT PAGE 2 <br /> MEETING OF MAY 21, 1971 <br /> stating no objection to the rear yard variance. <br /> OPPOSED: Phillip Cook, representing the Southern Wisconsin <br /> tor Wetlands Association, submitted a letter in opposition to appeal, <br /> voiced concern over variances to flood plain without specified or <br /> necessary information being provided, Richard Lehman, Madison, <br /> Wis. also concerned over the granting of variances to flood plain <br /> without necessary information. <br /> TOWN BOARD: not present. <br /> #123. Appeal by R. Schulz from denial of a permit to build an addition <br /> to a residence on lots 1 and 2, Paoli, Block 7, Township of <br /> Montrose. Permit denied because setback from road and canal is <br /> less than required by the Dane County Zoning Ordinance. <br /> IN FAVOR: R. Schulz presented drawing, stated he could not build <br /> addition to rear because of existing septic system. <br /> OTHERS IN FAVOR: none. OPPOSED: none. TOWN BOARD: no objection, <br /> #121. Appeal by the East Side Business Men's Association for a Special <br /> Exemption Permit to conduct a festival on a parcel of land locate. <br /> in the SEY NE4 of Section 5, Township of Blooming Grove. <br /> IN FAVOR: Paul Ryan and Roy Holm representing the ESBMA. The <br /> appeal was read. 2ir. Ryan stated that the festival had been held <br /> on this property for the last 17 years. They had maintained litte <br /> pick-up by the Boy Scouts, P. A. systems are toned down at 10 PM, <br /> traffic officers are provided and litter barrels will be placed <br /> around the neighborhood at the suggestion of a resident. lL <br /> chemical toilets will be provided this year. George Karabis <br /> resident in the area stated noise not oc3ectionalle, area is <br /> picked up, traffic is controlled. <br /> OPPOSED: Bob Judd, representing neighborhood group objected to <br /> noise, traffic conjestion, inconvenience. Would prefer some other <br /> location be found to hold festival. i4MMn objection is to turmoil <br /> and disruption after festival closes. <br /> TOWN BOARD: Denton Georgeson, Chairman, the Board realizes that <br /> there will always be some who will object to the festival but the <br /> Board is in favor of granting the permit. <br /> The Public Hearing was closed. <br /> #118. Motion by Holte to grant, 2nd by Dahlk, carried. <br /> #119. Motion by Dahlk to grant, 2nd by Holte, carried. <br /> #120. Motion by Holte to grant 26' variance, 2nd by Dahlk, carried. <br /> #121.Unanimous decision to grant appeal. Intention is to propose <br /> amendment to the ordinance to provide for such events subject to <br /> site approval. <br /> #122. Motion by Holte to hold in abeyancethe Special Exception to the <br /> flood plain, 2nd by Dahlk, carried; motion by Dahlk to grant rear <br /> yard variance of27' , 2nd by Holte, carried. <br /> #123.
