BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING, JANUARY 16, 1970 <br /> The Dane County Board of Adjustment met at 7:30 P.M., January 16, 1970 in <br /> Room 226 (Circuit Court Branch IV), City-County Building, Madison, Wiscons n <br /> to conduct a public hearing as published in the notice. The following mem- <br /> bers were present: Millard Erickson, Oscar Holte, Harland Dahlk. Also pres <br /> ent: L. J. Enger, Zoning Supervisor. <br /> The meeting was called to order. Motion by Mr. Holte to approve the minute: <br /> of the meetings of October 10, 1969 and January 10, 1970, second by Mr. <br /> Dahlk, motion carried. <br /> The notice was read and the public hearing opened and the following cases <br /> were heard: <br /> 1. Appeal by Hansen Advertising Co. , from the denial of a permit to erect <br /> a sign in the NE34 NW4 of Section 35, Town of Madison. Permit denied becaus: <br /> the set back from an intersection is less than required by the Dane County <br /> Zoning Ordinance. <br /> THOSE IN FAVOR: Mr. Vernon Cox of Hansen Advertising asked that the case <br /> be continued since one of the principals involved is ill and unable to <br /> attend the hearing. <br /> ACTION BY THE BOARD: Motion by Mr. Holte to grant continuance until the <br /> next scheduled public hearing, second by Mr. Dahlk, motion carried. <br /> 2. Appeal by Henry Bassett from the denial of a permit to build an additio <br /> to a single family residence on lots 10 and 11, blockl0, Lake Forest, <br /> Town of Madison. Permit denied because rear yard is less than required by <br /> the Dane County Zoning Ordinance. <br /> THOSE IN FAVOR: Mr. Bassett said the addition was needed to provide more <br /> room in his residence. The area is zoned RH-1 Rural Homes and this distric <br /> now requires a 50 foot rear yard; the lot depths in this subdivision make <br /> it impossible to comply with this requirement. R-3 Zoning would permit a <br /> 25 foot rear yard and his request is for 26 feet. Mr. DuBay who owns <br /> adjacent lots is not opposed. <br /> THOSE OPPOSED: None <br /> TOWN BOARD: Don Pierstorff, supervisor said the town is not opposed. He <br /> said their plan commission is preparing a petition to rezone the RH-1 <br /> areas to either R-3 or R-3A. <br /> ACTION BY THE BOARD:Motion to grant approval by Mr. Holte, second by Mr. <br /> Dahlk, carried unanimously. <br /> Public hearing closed. <br /> The board agreed to conduct public hearings on the third Friday of each <br /> month and inspection trips on the second Saturday. <br /> Meeting adjourned. <br /> Harland F.
