BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING - AUGUST 20, 1968 <br /> The Dane County Board of Adjustment met at 7:30 P.M. on August <br /> (11, The <br /> 1968 in Room 226, City-County Building, Madison, Wisconsin <br /> to conduct a public hearing as published in the notice. The foll- <br /> owing members of the Board were present: Millard Erickson, Chair- <br /> man; Oscar Holte, Vice-Chairman; Hermann Eisner, Secretary. Also <br /> present; L. J. Enger, Zoning Assistant. <br /> The meeting was called to order, the Notice read and the follow- <br /> ing cases heard: <br /> 1. Appeal by Mrs. Violet Johnson in the Town of Blooming Grove was <br /> withdrawn and a letter to that effect was placed on file. <br /> 2. Appeal by Richard Potthast from the denial of a permit to build <br /> a residence on Lot 81, First Addition to Mary Lake, Town of West- <br /> port. Permit denied because rear yard was less than required by <br /> Ordinance (35 feet required/ 25 feet requested). <br /> THOSE IN FAVOR: Mr. Potthast and Mr. William Nahirniak, designer <br /> explained that the lot is steep at the front and in order to put <br /> a usable drive way from Tall Oak Drive, the house has to be set <br /> back farther on the lot; a plot plan was also shown. <br /> THOSE OPPOSED- None. <br /> TOWN BOARD- Did not appear. <br /> ACTION BY THE BOARD- Mr. Eisner moved to approve and Mr. Holte <br /> seconded and the vote was unanimous. <br /> 3. Appeal by Gerald Cork from the denial of a permit to locate <br /> a mobile home on a parcel of land in the WV2 SW% of Section 22, <br /> Town of Montrose. Permit denied because left side yard was less <br /> than required by Ordinance (10 feet required/ 6 feet requested). <br /> THOSE IN FAVOR: Mr. Cork explained that he hoped to build a home <br /> on the other side of the lot and this left less room than is re- <br /> quired for the mobile home. There had also been an error in the <br /> location of lot lines by the seller. <br /> THOSE OPPOSED: None <br /> TOWN BOARD: The Town Board of Montrose appeared and were not <br /> opposed to the granting of the variance. <br /> ACTION BY THE BOARD: Mr. Eisner moved to approve and Mr. Holte <br /> seconded and the vote was unanimous. <br /> 4. Appeal by Harvey Spiegelhoff from the denial of a permit to <br /> build a machine shed in the NE% of Section 14, Town of York. Permit <br /> denied because set back from road is les than required by Ord- <br /> inance (30 feet required/ 17 feet requested). <br /> THOSE IN FAVOR: Mr. Spiegelhoff explained that the other buildings <br /> on the land made it necessary to infringe on the setback line. <br /> THOSE OPPOSED; None <br /> TOWN BOARD: Did not appear <br />
