BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT HEARING <br /> November 21, 1967 <br /> The Dane County Board of ,_djustment met in Room 226, City-County <br /> Building, Madison, Wisconsin at 7:30 P.M. November 21, 1967 to <br /> conduct a public hearing as published in the notice. The following <br /> members of the board were present: 0. K. Anderson, Chairman, <br /> Millard Erickson, Vice Chairman and Hermann Eisner, Secretary. Also <br /> present were W. G. Massarene, Zoning Supervisor, Lola Popanz, Zoning <br /> Assistant. <br /> The meeting was called to order, notice read and the following cases <br /> called: <br /> 1. Appeal by Willard C. Marten from the denial of a permit to <br /> build a machine shed south of String Valley Road in the SW/4 NE'^u <br /> Section 15, Town of Berry. Permit denied because setback from <br /> the road would be less than recuired by the ord:nance. <br /> THOSE IN FAVOR: Mr. Marten explained the need to have the machine <br /> shed 531/2 feet from the center or 45 feet from the edge of the road. <br /> A .,,uestion about widening the road was discussed and it seemed in <br /> that case it would be done on the other side of the road, the land <br /> being owned by Albert Meier. <br /> Henry Wille and Werner Koch, supervisors of the Town of Berry <br /> appeared in favor. <br /> THOSE OPPOSED: None OTHERS: None <br /> ACTION B'' THE BOARD: Appeal of Mr. Marten GRANTED (Moved by Eisner, <br /> seconded by Erickson, adopted unanimously.) <br /> 2. APPEAL BY John H. Cupp from a denial of a permit to build a one <br /> story house on the NE3y4 NE;4 Section 29, Town of Westport. Permit <br /> denied because side yard would be less than reouired by ordinance. <br /> THOSE IN FAVOR: B. J. Miller, Wausau Homes dealer appeared for <br /> Mr. and Mrs. Cupp and explained the 56 foot house was 1 foot too <br /> long to fit on the lot with 10 foot side yards. He presented a <br /> letter from Mr. Lewis who owns the lot next to it. Erickson asked <br /> if there was a minimum lot size in Westport. There is none. Mr. <br /> Miller said the lot next door may be used for a duplex. <br /> Bernard Kennedy and Jerome Ripp, supervisors of the Town of Westport <br /> asked the location of the property and then found no objection to the <br /> appeal. <br /> THOSE OPPOSED: None OTHERS: None <br /> ACTION BY THE BOARD: Appeal of Mr. Cupp GRANTED (Moved by Eisner, <br /> seconded by Anderson, adopted unamimously.) <br />
