MINUTES OF THE DAME COT= BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br /> I•EETB G OF APRIL 20, 1973 <br /> Present: Erickson, Holte, Dahlk. <br /> Also: Enger, Fleck <br /> Meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. in Room 226 to conduct a public <br /> hearing as published in the notice. A notion to approve the minutes of <br /> March 16, 1973 and April 14, 1973 was made by Dahlk, second by Holte. <br /> Carried. <br /> The notice was read and the public hearing was opened. <br /> #213 . Appeal by John J. Lizza from denial of a permit to build an additions <br /> to a residence located on a parcel of land in the N 3 ,,:r1 of Section 36, <br /> Township of Cottage Grove. Permit denied because setback from the County <br /> Highway is less than required by the Dane County Zoning Ordinance. <br /> IN FAVOR: J. Lizza, proposed additions will not increase non-conformity - <br /> will square •off front of house and make possible the better use of a very <br /> small front room. <br /> OTHERS IN FAVOR: Stewart Larson, interested citizen, residence Madison <br /> YMCA, Qualifications - member (volunteer) of Gov. Lucey's Environmental <br /> Task Force, etc. Saw no reason to deny appeal as farmer has it hard <br /> enough as it is. <br /> OPPOSE. : None. <br /> TOWN BOARD: Letter presented stating the Town Board was in favor of <br /> granting the appeal. <br /> #214. Appeal by the Dane County Farmer's Union Co-op from denial of a <br /> permit to construct two storage bins on a parcel of land located in the <br /> SFr SN of Section 16, Township of Cottage Grove. Permit denied because <br /> setback from County Highway "N" is less than required by the Dane County <br /> Zoning Ordinance. • <br /> IN FAVOR: Galen Hartung, Manager, proposed addition will he used pri- <br /> marily for soybeans, but will accomodate wet corn if necessary. It will <br /> relieve the congestion of existing facility, provide a coordinated <br /> system with increased capacity. QUESTION, Dahlk: With all the area you <br /> have, why must it be located towards C.T.H. "N"? Mr. Hartung: Existing <br /> facility, dryers and storage, precludes any other location. <br /> OTHERS IN FAVOR: Stewart Larson, recommended moving of road rather than <br /> storage bins. <br /> OPPOSED: None. <br /> TOWN BOARD: Letter presented stating the Town Board was in favor of <br /> granting the appeal. <br /> #215. Appeal by Paul S. Schoepp for a special exception permit to con- <br /> struct a pond on a parcel of land located in the NA s;'1/4 of Section )4, <br /> Township of Cross Plains. <br /> IN FAVOR: P. Schoepp - has consulted S.C.S. There will be no flowage <br /> from creek, will utilize surface water unless springs are found. <br /> OTHERS IN FAVOR: Stewart Larson, familiar with area, topography and <br /> soil conditions through conversations and visiting friends in the area. <br /> Recommended - worthwhile project for purposes of land acquisition, <br /> development, etc. Chairman Erickson requested that Mr. Larson hold his <br /> personal opinions and reconunendations and present facts either pro or con <br /> on which the Board will base its decision. Chairman Erickson warned Mr. <br /> Larson that he was obstructing the workings of the Board and violating <br /> rights of others. Testimony concluded• <br />
