MINUTES OF THE DANE COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br /> MEETING OF JULY 21, 1972 Page 1 <br /> he Dane County Board of Adjustment met on July 21, 1972 with the following <br /> members present: Erickson, Holte, Dahlk; also, Enger, Fleck. <br /> Meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. in the City-County Building, Room <br /> 226 (Circuit Court Branch IV) to conduct a Public Hearing as published in <br /> the notice. A motion to approve the minutes of June 16 and July 15, 1972 <br /> was made by Dahlk, second by Holte, carried. <br /> The notice was read and th e Public Hearing was opened. <br /> #179. Appeal by George J. Palashak to build an addition to a garage located <br /> on Lot 1, Richard Standish Plat, Section 26, Township of Dunn. Permit <br /> denied because side yard is less than required by the Dane County <br /> Zoning Ordinance. <br /> IN FAVOR: G. Palashak; presented photos of existing garage, addition <br /> will not increase the non-conformity, if addition were to be built <br /> to conform it would be very difficult to drive the car into the garag <br /> OTHERS IN FAVOR: none. OPPOSED: none. TOWN BOARD: Truman Felland, <br /> Chairman, in favor. <br /> • <br /> ,•180. Appeal by Marcus J. Bovre from denial of a permit to build an additio.; <br /> to a residence located on Lots 1 and 2, Block 8 Paoli, Section 3 Town <br /> of Montrose. Permit denied because side yard (setback from water) is <br /> less than required by the Dane County Zoning Ordinance. <br /> IN FAVOR: M. J. Bovre, addition will enclose the back corner of the <br /> residence and will be in line with the existing building. <br /> OTHERS IN FAVOR, none. OPPOSED: none. TOWN BOARD: not present. <br /> .•181. Appeal by Thomas V. Geppert for a Special Exception Permit to grade <br /> and landscape a parcel of land , Lot 2, certified survey #838, Volume <br /> 4 page 58, located in the NE 1/4 SE 1/4 of section 6, Township of Westport. <br /> IN FAVOR: T. Geppert presented a plan of grading, purpose is to allow <br /> an exposed basement to be built. Sodding will be done from the lake <br /> edge to a distance of 20 -25 feet from the lake, seeding will commenc- <br /> from this point. Dirt will be moved away from the lake to prevent <br /> siltation. Erickson question of tree removal; several tree are dead, <br /> have contacted D.N. R. and they stated that "trees" under 2" diameter <br /> could be cut. A large number of the "trees" are boxelder. New trees <br /> will be planted. <br /> OTHERS IN FAVOR: none. OPPOSED: none. TOWN BOARD: Bernard Kennedy, <br /> Chairman, in favor. R. Sheperd, Supervisor, in favor; trees are in a <br /> band about 12' deep and are mostly scrub trees. <br /> °182. Appeal by the Mt. Vernon Park association from denial of a permit to <br /> construct a building on a parcel of land located in the Village of Mt. <br /> Vernon, Section 34, Township of Springdale. Permit denied because <br /> setback from streets is less than required by the Dane County Zoning <br /> Ordinance. <br /> IN FAVOR: Bill Ryan, L. Marty, R. Davis and Ben Goebler, Mt. Ve rnon <br /> Park Association, the streets involved are shown on the plat of Mt. <br /> Vernon but they have never actually been constructed. Area is presently <br /> a public park. The building location is proposed in order to be close <br /> to the basketball court, skating rink and toilet facilities. There is <br /> no reason for the street to be constructed as the area is within the <br /> flood plain and is close to the creek. Town Chairman, E. Linyard <br /> stated that the Town Board feels that the area should be left as is, <br /> have considered closing the street. There will be adequate room to <br /> provide for a street in the future if it is necessary but there is <br /> more benefite to everyone to leave the area as it is. <br />
