Variance is necessary to permit a raised deck <br /> for a new residence in part of Government Lot #1, NW 1/4 Section 29, <br /> Town of Pleasant Springs. <br /> IN FAVOR: O. Appeal by the Town of Cottage Grove for a variance from required <br /> setback from C.T.H. "N" as provided by Section 10.17 (2) (b) - Dane <br /> County Zoning Ordinance. Variance is necessary to permit construction <br /> of a storage shed in the NW 1/4 SE 1/4 Section 16, 4080 C.T.H. "N" , <br /> Town of Cottage Grove. <br /> Letter from Town Board requesting withdrawal, building can be located <br /> without a variance. <br /> The public hearing was closed. <br /> #767. Motion by Schwahn second by Purcell to deny. <br /> FINDING OF FACT: <br /> 1. As per Zoning Administrator, most of department cost is in re- <br /> view of and issuance of permit, filing, recording, etc. This <br /> cost would be transferred to the public if fee was to be re- <br /> funded. <br /> 2. All ramifications of proposed construction, including mortgage <br /> money, building costs, decision to build are the responsibility <br /> of the individual intending to build. Costs incurred by a de- <br /> cision not to build should not be passed on to the public. <br /> CONCLUSION: <br /> a. Unnecessary hardship not proven. <br /> b. Return of permit fee is not in the public interest. Motion <br /> carried. <br />
