Non-conforming uses require continual use Section 10. 21 (1) Dane <br /> County Zoning Ordinance provides that if a non-conforming use shall <br /> be discontinued for a period of one year, such non-conforming use <br /> will be deemed to have terminated and any future use siiall`be in con- <br /> formity with the ordinance. Evidence submitted (notarized statements <br /> by area residences) were very general in nature and in no way could <br /> be Used to verify that the non-conforming use had not been discontinues <br /> for one year or several years. <br /> 3. Hardship of not being able to utilize main residence because of <br /> lack of public sewer can not he considered as there are other alter- <br /> natives to the problem ie: new septic system or holding tank. <br /> 4. While not being able to utilize cottage for residential purposes <br /> there is nothing to prevent its being used and maintained for other <br /> purposes ie: storage etc. <br /> CONCLUSION: <br /> a. Existance of non-conforming use not verified. <br /> h. Other alternatives to residential use of property are available <br /> c.
