Solar heating system is being installed on an existing refurbishes <br /> residence and proposed wall is the only feasible location. <br /> 2. Required variance is minimal - 3 inches. <br /> 3. Other residences in the area are much closer to the front pro- <br /> perty line. <br /> CONCLUSION: <br /> A. Proven case of unnecessary hardship. <br /> B. Variance is necessary to provide right enjoyed by others. <br /> C. Variance is not contrary to rights of others or to the <br /> public interest. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> #858. Motion by Schwahn, second by Purcell to grant a variance of 7 <br /> feet from the required setback from the Webb Avenue property line. <br /> FINDING OF FACT: <br /> 1. Existing residence is non-conforming as to setback and an en- <br /> closed entry is not possible without a variance. <br /> 2. Entry is necessary to protect entrance, particularly in winter. <br /> Existing doorway opens directly outside. <br /> 3. Entry will provide energy conservation by providing an "air-lock" <br />' (0, <br /> feature for doorway. <br /> CONCLUSION: <br /> A. Proven case of unnecessary hardship. <br /> B. Variance is not contrary to rights of others or to the public <br /> interest. <br /> C. Hardship is caused by the ordinance and is not self-imposed. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> #859.
