It was opened <br /> on September 22, 1986. <br /> * To prepare the site we lowered the hillside 46 feet and raised the land where <br /> the main building stands 21 feet. In all we moved nearly 400,000 cubic yards <br /> of earth. <br /> * Our 3 building complex consists of: <br /> 1. Main building approximately 18,000 square feet. <br /> 2. Truck Fueling Center approximately 2,000 square feet. <br /> 3. Truck Service Center approximately 9,600 square feet. <br /> * We have 43 acres and over 33 acres of blacktop and concrete. <br /> * There is parking for more than 275 semi trucks and 175 autos and RV's. <br /> * We have our own aireated sewage system sized for a city population of 750. Our <br /> holding ponds have a capacity of 2 1/4 million gallons. <br /> * Our water comes from a deep water well which is capable of pumping 350 to <br /> 400 gallons per minute. This not only supplies our everyday needs, but is the <br /> source for our 3 fire fighting stations located maned main fuel�sl island <br /> capacity fire hydrant located between the main <br /> * Hot water for the main building including the 14 private showers, laundro. <br /> mat, and Iron Skillet Restaurant is provided by an energy efficient heat <br /> reclaiming system. <br /> * The main electrical service is 2,800 amps and is completely underground <br /> throughout the complex. <br /> * Telephone service is provided by 150 pair of telephone lines. <br /> * Underground we have (best guess) about 750 miles of wire, telephone, piping, <br /> etc. We have underground storage capacity for 184,000 gallons of petroleum <br /> products. <br /> * We operate our own fleet of equipment for snow removal, salt and sand <br /> spreading, and street sweeping services. <br /> * Yes this is one of the largest Truckstop Travel Plaza's in the United States of <br /> America. <br /> * More than 170 well trained, friendly full time employees are dedicated to <br /> providing you with quality products at a fair price with exceptional service <br /> from the cleanest and most modern of facilities. <br /> * Thank you for being a customer of PETRO! <br /> * James B.
