OUR CONCERN FOR SAFETY: The current owner has agreed to give the church an ease- ment to use the existing driveway since this lot fronts Highway Q which is a controlled access highway. The county highway department has reviewed the application for the church drive- way permit. They determined there was excellent visibility in both directions and that peak church usage coincided with low traffic volumes on Hwy Q. The County Transportation Committee endorsed the application and agreed to grant the permit at their 1/27/92 meeting. 5.A. PROPOSED USE OF PROPERTY The lot described in this application would be used by the First Presbyterian Church of Waunakee as a building site for a new church. The new facility would include a sanctuary, fellowship space, room for Christian education and office space. We have been in our present church building at the corner of Fish and 2nd for 114 years , with a sanctuary that seats about 90 people, and a congregation currently numbering more than twice that many people. It is projected that the new facility would meet our space needs for at least the next 20 years. Adequate parking space would be provided. Land- scaping would be used to soften the features and preserve the pastoral setting. The greatest possible care would be taken in the process of design to ensure the construction of a church building of which the communities of Waunakee and Westport could be proud. B.
