Town of Cottage Grove <br /> Plan Committee Meeting <br /> March 25, 1992 <br /> Present: G. Skaar, M. Kindschi, K. Christoph, J. Peterson, <br /> K. Hampton. <br /> G. Skaar called the meeting to order at 7: 30 p.m. K. Hampton read <br /> minutes of the February 26, 1992, meeting. K. Christoph moved to <br /> approve the minutes. Second by J. Peterson. Carried. <br /> M. Kindschi reported that the Town Land Use Plan is now on the <br /> computer . M. Kindschi moved to add Jeff Bowers' zone request to <br /> the agenda. Second by K. Christoph. Carried. <br /> Loren Vanderbilt <br /> Lots 1 and 2 were not certified by survey. The house on Lot 1 was <br /> built five years ago. The rear setback is not in compliance with <br /> R1 zoning. RH3 zoning will bring it into compliance. Tracy Klute <br /> is building on Lot 2 now and is trying to clean up the zoning <br /> problem. Frank Evan spoke in favor of the zoning request. No one <br /> spoke in opposition. <br /> M. Kindschi moved to recommend approval to the Town Board. Second <br /> by K. Christoph. Carried. <br /> Stanley Schmidt <br /> Would like to rezone Al property to R1 for .94 acres. He is buying <br /> 37 acres from Dan Breuning. The remaining land would stay Al and <br /> be rented out for use. The .94 acres would be used for a single <br /> family home. Several area residents spoke in favor of the rezone. <br /> Gloria Nelson spoke in opposition noting that this rezone would <br /> increase more residential construction in the area. <br /> Mr. Schmidt responded that he wants to preserve the Al zone and has <br /> no plans to sell or split any of the Al. Sale of land would be <br /> contingent on perk testing. He stated that he would be willing to <br /> have a deed restriction on the remaining 36+ acres for no more <br /> splits or building on the land. : <br /> G. Skaar moved to deny based on Policy #1 and 3, p. 4 in Exclusive-:� <br /> Agricultural District. Second by K. Christoph. Carried. 2f 40 <br /> Thomas Russell <br /> (c) <br /> tN1/4..) <br /> Requested zone change from Al to RH2 for 5.85 acres. Would like to <br /> sell farm buildings. He has 141 acres in total in the farm. G. <br /> Skaar advised the Committee that he will be neutral regarding the <br /> rezone because he owns adjacent lands: 22.5 acres in CRP; 40 in <br /> wetland; 70 acres are rented corn production to G. Skaar; 2.6 acres <br /> are needed just to contain the buildings. This request was before <br /> the Committee in 1986. <br />
