MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE DANE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br /> COMMITTEE HELD ON June 28, 1990 <br /> The following members were present: Harvey, Rendall , Quackenbush and Kruschke <br /> Also: Fleck and Reynolds. <br /> Meeting called to order at 7:05 p.m. in Room #2D City-County Building as <br /> published by Class II Notice. <br /> Quackenbush/Harvey to amend minutes of 5/24/90. <br /> RE: Appeal #1969, finding of fact: <br /> Rein, Schultz and Dahl purchased the "Marty Pit" (SE 1/4 NW 1 /4) and <br /> contiguous NE 1/4 SW 1/4 - Section 9, Town of Verona on 11/6/67 and that all <br /> times material in both 1 /4 's 1/4's have been in same chain of ownership; and <br /> approve minutes as amended. Motion carried - 4-0. <br /> Quackenbush/Rendall to decide each appeal after completion of testimony as a <br /> permanent Board policy. Motion carried - 4-0. <br /> #1987. Appeal by Little Norway, Inc. for a variance from required maximum <br /> square feet and location of directory signs as provided by Sections <br /> 10.72 (1 )(a ) and (2 ) (c) to permit directory sign after highway relocation at <br /> USH 18-151 and 1 /8 mi . East of CTH J in the SE 1/4 SE 1/4 - Section 14, Town <br /> of Springdale. <br /> IN FAVOR: S. Winner OPPOSED: --- COMMUNICATION: Department of <br /> Transportation. <br /> Quackenbush/Harvey to grant variance of 48 square feet from required maximum <br /> square footage of directory signs. Also, to grant variance of 4 more or less <br /> miles from maximum distance directory sign may be located from place it <br /> advertises. <br /> FINDING OF FACT: <br /> 1 ). Similar variance granted for square footage in April '89 (#1830) to same <br /> applicant. <br /> 2). Sign is being relocated from present location due to State right-of-way <br /> acquisition. <br /> 3). State allows "historical " signs up to 144 square feet without need to be <br /> on commercial zoned property. <br /> CONCLUSION: <br /> 1 ). Variance is not contrary to rights of others or to the public interest. <br /> 2) . Variance preserves the zoning ordinance as much as possible without <br /> injustice to applicant. <br /> Motion carried - 4-0. <br /> #1988. Appeal by T. Lee Howard for a variance from required setback from road <br /> and rearyard as provided by Sections 10.17(3) and 10.12(5) to permit additions <br /> to existing residence at 4073 Pleasant View Road in the SW 1 /4 SW 1/4 - <br /> Section 15, Town of Middleton. <br />
