June 18, 1992
Dear Zoning And Natural Resources Committee Members,
This letter is in regard to zoning petition # 5366. The proposal that was presented to your
committee by Mr. Witter on June 9, 1992 was very vague on the erosion control plans for the
long, winding driveway and hilltop building site. The building site and the majority of the driveway
are located in what the Dane County Regional Planning Commission has designated as having
"Very Severe"potential for erosion. The proposed driveway is directly across a county road from
the Dunlap Hollow Piority Watershed.
Taking into consideration the enormous potential for erosion and the difficulties controlling it,the
Mazomanie Land Planning Committee approved the zoning request contingent on 3
requirements. We have attached a copy of the minutes of the planning Committee meeting on
May 4, 1992. These 3 very specific requirements are listed and highlighted.
This rezoning request should not be approved until the contingencies are met. We have had
conversations with members of the Mazomanie Land Planning Committee since your
committee's June 9 meeting. They are surprised that Mr. Witter has not compiled with their
requirements and recommend delaying the approval until these contingencies are met.
There has been considerable emotional and personal aspects to this rezoning request. Please
put these insignificant issues aside when making your decision.
Sincerely,
✓r /
Thomas Muckler/Jeanne Clark Muckier
9888 Dunlap Hollow Road
Mazomanie, WI 53560
