Appeal by Badger Display Signs, agent for Hyundai Alfa-Romeo of <br /> Madison for a variance from required maximum height of wall mounted sign as <br /> provided by Section 10.75(8) to permit wall sign as proposed at 320 W. <br /> Beltline Highway in the SW 1/4 NW 1/4 Section 36, Town of Madison. <br /> IN FAVOR: J. Miller , T. Zimbrick OPPOSED: --- COMMUNICATION: ---. <br /> Gaskill/Lynch to grant variance of 2 feet or less from required maximum height <br /> of wall mounted sign to permit installation of new signage. <br /> FINDING OF FACT: <br /> 1). New signage will replace sign of similar height which pre-dated present <br /> sign ordinance. <br /> 2). Fascia of existing building severely limits locating signage at complying <br /> height. <br /> 3). Height Variance similar to previous approval #2297 (9/24/92) to which <br /> adjoining highway (not frontage) speeds are considered. <br /> CONCLUSION: <br /> 1). Variance is not contrary to rights of others or to the public interest. <br /> 2). Variance preserves the zoning ordinance as much as possible without <br /> injustice to applicant. <br /> Motion carried - 3-0. (Quackenbush and Klopp, abstain) . <br /> #2378. Appeal by Kenneth Wulf, agent for Susan Cooper for a variance from <br /> required setback from road as provided by Section 10.17(2) to permit additions <br /> to existing residence as proposed at 1785 CTH V in the NW 1/4 NW 1/4 Section <br /> 12, Town of Bristol. <br /> IN FAVOR: K. Wulf OPPOSED: --- COMMUNICATION: County Highway <br /> Gaskill/Lynch to grant variance 39 more or less feet from minimum required <br /> setback to centerline of CTH V to permit 2nd story addition also 1 story <br /> addition to rear of existing residence. <br /> FINDING OF FACT: <br /> 1). Second story addition will extend no further into required setback than <br /> does existing structure. <br /> 2). As per 10.23(4) if more than 50% of the existing structure has to be <br /> removed or replaced this approval is invalid. <br /> 3). Property is in an area of many nonconforming structures and several with <br /> similar variances. <br /> 4). Dane County Highway Department has objected. <br /> CONCLUSION: <br /> 1). Variance preserves the zoning ordinance as much as possible without <br /> injustice to applicant. <br /> 2). Variance is necessary to provide right enjoyed by others. <br /> Motion carried - 4-0. (Klopp, abstain). <br /> #2379. Appeal by Jeff Gottsacker for a variance from required setback from <br /> road as provided by Section 10.17(2) to permit accessory building as proposed <br /> at 3703 CTH M in the NW 1/4 NE 1/4 Section 27, Town of Middleton. <br /> IN FAVOR: J. Gottsacker OPPOSED: --- COMMUNICATION: County Highway. <br /> Gaskill/Dreps to hold appeal in abeyance until May Hearing to allow applicant <br /> to research alternative locations. Motion carried - 3-0. <br />
