February 25, 1993 <br /> William Fleck, Zoning Administrator <br /> 116 City-County Bldg Jr . , Blvd. <br /> 210 Martin Luther King , <br /> Madison, WI 53709 <br /> Dear Bill: <br /> Pursuant to sec. 10 . 255( 2) ( j ) of the Dane County <br /> Ordinances, <br /> I do hereby appeal the grant of a conditional use <br /> permit ( "CUP" ) to William Paulson, to operate a mineral <br /> extraction site in the he Cottage Grove. <br /> This <br /> Committee no. <br /> 1021, was granted by the <br /> meeting of February 23, 1993 . <br /> The basis for this appeal is threefold: ( 1) the notice of <br /> the CUP application incorrectly stated that the mineral <br /> fact the <br /> extraction site would be confined h member of Committee <br /> CUP is issued for 36 acres; (2) each <br /> personally stated to me that the <br /> ato the ZNR Committee tmeetiPgtof <br /> matter of this CUP application <br /> the <br /> Feb. 22 , causing me to mislead Grovee into cnotZeattend both g tat <br /> town and village of Cottage give due consideration <br /> meeting; and (3) the Committee failed to g <br /> to the fact that the proposed mineral extraction site is within <br /> the Village of Cottage Grove ' s well-head protection zone which <br /> includes the water tower and pumping station for the Village, <br /> thus having potential to endanger the public health and welfare <br /> of village residents dependent on this water supply. <br /> i assume you will schedule this matterhavr hearing before <br /> the Board in due course.
