Petition 5001 (cont) <br /> Comment: While acknowledging some legitimate places <br /> for small businesses in rural areas, the town does <br /> not Intend to be urbanized or provide urban <br /> services. Therefore, the policies are designed to <br /> limit the size, intensity and location of the uses. <br /> The conditional rezoning provision will be used to <br /> set specific limits on the use. When businesses <br /> grow, they are expected to move to appropriately <br /> served urban sites, since the town Intends to remain <br /> rural . <br /> This particular proposal is a small addition to a warehouse, which <br /> apparently will not result in additional employment on-site. The site <br /> is approximately one mile south of the 1-90 Interchange and not subject <br /> to those policies. This appears to meet the spirit of the policy. <br /> However , the policy is drawn to the attention of the applicant , town and <br /> county officials to remind us all that major additions are not desired <br /> at rural locations and, if major expansion Is contemplated, it should <br /> take place in an urban area. <br /> • <br /> • s <br /> 10 <br />
