• <br /> Petition 5020. This proposed residential development is in an <br /> agricultural preservation area of the Town of Sun Prairie. The adopted <br /> county policy criteria for land considered for such rezoning is: <br /> Land where there has not been a history of <br /> economically viable .farming activities. <br /> Land which Is too small to be economically used for <br /> agricultural purposes or which is Inaccessible to the <br /> farm machinery needed to produce and harvest <br /> agricultural products. <br /> Land located such that there would be no possible <br /> conflict with the surrounding agricultural uses. <br /> This site Is currently a farm field with farm buildings to the north. <br /> The soils are all prime farmland by USDA definition and all Class. I & II <br /> according to the application information. <br /> The area to the west has been rezoned and divided In recent years with <br /> several homes on the R-1A area to the west. The large R-1 area west of <br /> Alvin Road was rezoned for a plat within the past two years, but no <br /> construction has begun. <br /> This field appears to be the type of area to be preserved by farmland <br /> preservation policies.
