To provide better customer service, with time permitting, the inspector may perform a simple search or ask <br /> the applicant if there were recent projects that would be on file with our office. This would pertain to <br /> projects within 5 years or projects with files in the office file cabinets. Inspectors should not conduct <br /> extensive searches for location surveys for applicants. Applicant should be directed to Clerical Staff in <br /> Planning Department conduct a search through survey records. <br /> If a location survey is needed, the inspector shall fill in the check box on the application and have the <br /> applicant initial the box. The location survey information sheet shall be provided to the applicant. The <br /> applicant shall be instructed that a location survey must prepared and submitted at time of installation of <br /> foundation,or in the case of decks,upon completion. <br /> Inspections <br /> Zoning inspectors shall review all the information provided with the application in determining if a project <br /> is in compliance with the zoning regulations. If an existing survey is being used for the project, the <br /> inspector shall measure the size and/or location of the project under construction from the existing building <br /> to determine compliance. <br /> If an inspection is being performed on a project that requires a location survey and the Zoning Department <br /> has not received a location survey, a Stop Work Order will be posted on the job site for violation of DCCO <br /> Section 10.25 if the project has progressed beyond the construction of the foundation. The inspector will call <br /> the applicant to inform them of the requirement of a location survey. <br />
