Zoning and Natural Resources Committee May 30, 1991
Dane County Board Of Supervisors
Dane County, Wisconsin
JUN 0 3 1991
zr `eJ
Attention Zoning and Natural Resources Committees : ZDNiNGDIV.
Enclosed is a outline along with copies of letters,
correspondence, maps, and Conditional Use Permits guidelines .
All of this should represent the activity that has taken place in
efforts to try and receive a Conditional Use Permit from the
Middleton Town Board and Dane County Zoning for the property
located on 3440 High Point Road in the Town of Middleton.
The reason we are requesting a conditional use permit is that
we would like to operate a Wildlife Art Gallery and Winery as
well as live in the house located on 3440 High Point Road. We
would not change the property (except for improvements) in any
way as to affect the surrounding land. The building located now
on the property is approximately 100 years old and the home and
grounds are beautiful with wildflowers, apple orchards and song
birds . The building has been located on the property for such a
length of time that we feel one should preserve it as much as
possible. How could one building that has been there so long and
been preserved that way it has been, take away any value from
the land and buildings that developers have erected recently?
With applying for this Conditional Use Permit, more of the
surrounding community and neighbors will have the opportunity to
experience its history and beauty. The building is part of the
areas history and today with new developments, more and more
history is being lost so our youth will never be able to
experience the local history and architecture. We feel it would
be a definite asset to the community for the Conditional Use
Permit to be granted. With the type of building in that area the
new home owners would welcome the chance to purchase art and fine
