DANE COUNTY
Land and Water Resources Department
i,
l Kevin Connors
cON!
Director
DATE: February 12, 2007
TO: Mark Stace
Permit Applicant
FROM: Josh Harder
Erosion Control Engineer
RE: Affordable Self Storage Addition —Revisions to Erosion Control and
Stormwater Management Plan, ES2005-0132
The submitted revisions to the erosion control and stormwater management plan (revisions shown in
italics) meet the needs of the site and include the following requirements:
1. The site will only be accessed off the existing concrete lot by a stone-tracking pad. The pad
will be a minimum of 50' long x 24' wide x 12" deep and will be constructed of 3-inch clear
stone. No other site access may be used and material deposited in the road will be cleaned
up at the end of each workday.
2. Silt fence will be installed prior to grading in the locations shown on the plan and down
slope of any soil stockpiles. The silt fence will be maintained until vegetation is established.
The silt fence will be maintained through out all phases of the proposed development, new
silt fence will be installed when the existing fence is no longer functional.
3. A stormwater conveyance swale and detention pond will be constructed prior to any other
grading. The swale will be over excavated 1/2 foot during construction. Sediment must
periodically be removed from the swale and basin during construction and after all phases of
construction are complete to maintain sediment removal efficiency.
4. A permanent rock check dam will be installed in the conveyance swale as shown on the plan
5. Grading must be confined to the areas shown on the plan. No material storage, vehicle
traffic or grading may occur in the areas identified as "undisturbed" or"vegetated buffer" on
the plan. In the event any of these areas are disturbed, additional erosion control measures
will be required.
6. The plan includes a construction schedule as follows:
Grading and construction associated with phase I was planned to begin June 1, 2005.
Land Conservation Division, Lyman F.
