This is Zoning Petition #5087. The <br /> request is to change the zoning from A-1 exclusive agriculture <br /> to RH-3 rural homes . <br /> I think the committee should be aware that this parcel <br /> of land has been included in the study area for a permanent greenway <br /> along the Ice Age National Scenic Trail by the County Greenspace <br /> Committee. The Greenspace Committee approved the study area map <br /> for this area and recommended the plan to the County Board of <br /> Supervisors on June 19, 1991 . This parcel has also been included <br /> in the trailway corridor eligible for State stewardship acquisition <br /> funding mapped by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources . <br /> Copies of these maps are enclosed . <br /> Since the intended purpose of the Ice Age National Scenic <br /> Trailway designation and the county greenspace plan is to preserve <br /> and acquire this land for a public greenway, it seems inconsistent <br /> to change the zoning of this parcel to a zoning category that <br /> is intended to allow large lot rural homesites . The current exclusive <br /> agriculture zoning reflects the projected long term use of this <br /> land as part of the public greenway. <br /> I have spoken to Mr. Burke and expressed ;the ',interest <br /> of the Ice 'Age Park &' Trail"Foundation to assist in the purchase <br /> of the entire parcel at fair market value if he is interested in selling <br /> the land.
