OPERATIONS PLAN Page
2-0515-1748 4 of 4
area of the campground. An area of suitable soils was confirmed by Dane County, Columbia County and
DSPS(Mark Finger). Currently, Crystal Lake Campground is in the process of obtaining all necessary
permits to construct the sewer system from the Dane County and the State DSPS.
2.6. Trash Removal
It's the visitor's responsibility to remove and collect their trash and dispose at the collection station.
The trash collection station is located in Columbia County. A camper/RV dump station is located in the
Dane County section of the campground. Management keeps garbage collection site clean and free of
objectionable material and odors.
2.7. Traffic
Anticipated daily traffic will be under 100 ADT for Dane County part of the campground. The types of
vehicles visiting campground will vary from small passenger cars and pickup trucks with campers and
RVs. The visitors are able to rent power golf cart to use within the campground. All roads within the
Dane County campground area are private roads and are not maintained by the County.
2.8. Hazardous Materials
Each stationary camper or RV is connected an individual sewage holding tank. The owner wants to
reduce the risk to public and visitors from accidental overfills of tanks which would result in the spillage of
sewage onto the ground or into the lake. Management is looking to construct a sewage collection system
that will connect all camper/RV wastewater into one system and eliminate individual holding tanks.
2.9. Outdoor Lighting
Due to the location of the campground(separated from the Dane County by the lake),the outdoor
lighting wasn't an issue within the past history of the campground operation.
2.10. Signage
The Campground will maintain site markers and signs that are appropriate for maintaining the
campground and providing a safe and comfortable stay for the guests. Additionally there are maps
available at the campground office with the layouts of the amenities.
Respectfully Submitted,
General Engineering Company
Portage • Black River Falls • La Crosse l
Consulting Engineering•Structural Engineering•Building Design•Environmental Services•Building Inspection•GIS Services
Grant Procurement&Administration•Land Surveying•Zoning Administration•Mechanical,Electrical,&Plumbing Services
