However, no specific proposals have been made for this plan, nor
could the developer insure that these plans will be followed.
More consideration of the rehabilitation of the site and
alternative plans are needed in the event that current plans
cannot be realized. Since this site was previously proposed as a
land fill, there is considerable concern that this may be one of
the alternative uses for the site following mineral extraction
operations. A related concern regarding the proposed operation
is that the developer has not been forthright in presenting an
overall plan for the project. Discussions have indicated that
the golf course and housing developments would be the 2nd and 3rd
stages of the project. However, the developer has also indicated
that materials from the site will be used in building the golf
course and houses. Such an approach would necessitate a parallel
development rather than a sequential approach as the developer
has indicated.
Finally, as close neighbors to the proposed project we believe it
would have a detrimental effect to the resale value of our
property and current quality of life. Since this is a long
program (5 years) which will start immediately, little
opportunity will be available to sell our property without a loss
in value. In addition, the dust and noise resulting from this
project will have a adverse effect on most residents in the local
area.
We hope you will also feel that present planning for this mineral
extraction permit is both potentially dangerous and inadequate.
We urge you to reject the conditional use permit.
Sincerely, ti-..%--"A--%A-C
Michael D.
