Overburden of brown silt <br /> loam averaging 4 feet, with upper footage containing a slight reddish tinge from <br /> iron coated aeolian (wind blown) fine sand. <br /> MINERALOGY <br /> Rock types and minerals present are derived from the glacial path of the <br /> Green Bay Lobe of Cary Ice of the Wisconsin Stage of glaciation. Includes <br /> remnants of the three major periods of carbonate deposition along with the common <br /> sandstones and shales of post-Cambrian age . Metamorphic rock present is in the <br /> form of quartzites, gneisses , and slate . The igneous particles examined were <br /> granites, syenites , diorites , and various periodotites (ferro-mags) . <br />
