One of the <br /> reference monuments shown on the 1979 Sandsnes tie sheet was recovered and checked well. Many prior <br /> surveys in the area have used a previous point located 4.78 feet east of the aluminum monument as <br /> previously shown as the corner. More recent surveys have used the aluminum monument. The location of the <br /> Aluminum Monument was accepted based on the verification of the existing reference tie and the monument <br /> location was determined from an original monument location dug up in 1979 where the location previously <br /> used to the east of the monument was based on aerial photographs.
