Shary Bisgard, Chair
Agriculture, Environment & Land Records Committee
Dane County Zoning Dept.
Madison, WI
RE: Zoning Pe ition # 4764
I have just received a faxed copy of Mr. Kenneth Johnson ' s letter
opposing the above referenced zoning petition and am taking the
liberty to respond to it since I was not afforded the opportunity
to neither see the letter nor repond to it at the hearing on the
8th of May.
Item 1)
" . . .the total acreage of this farm in 1977 was 70. 9 acres. It is
believed that this parcel was not part of the farm in 1977 ,
therefore, only one building parcel can be created from this
farm, not two or three. Dane county is currently reviewing this
item. "
Item 2)
"It is believed that parcel 14 0610-331-8790 was a contiguous
part of the Hilrnan Halverson farm in 1977 and cannot be
considered a separate building parcel. . . "
RESPONSE to items 1 & 2 :
The whole issue of contiguity is subject to interpretation and I
will have to leave that up to your committee and others to
decide. I am not so sure it is even relevant in this matter.
The current size and shape of Parcel 14 0610-273-9290 was created
by the extension of Dunnwood Way and by my creation of Burning
Tree in Dunnwood Heights subdivision in 1976. Up until that time
it was contiguous to the entire Hilman Halverson Farm.
Item 3)
"Certainly no livestock or animals should be permitted"
