Not only will this project have an adverse effect on the homeowners ' quality of life and our investment , but it will also affect Olson Realty ' s investment in the remaining lots in the subdivision - especially those in the south slope addition. As was stated previously, if a commercial building had been at the corner of American Way and Highway BB , many of the current homeowners would not have purchased their lots . You have a much more substantial investment in the remaining lots in the subdivision than in just Out-Lots #2 and #3 . By putting in a commercial building , you jeopardize not only our ability to re-sell our homes , but you lessen your own chances of selling the remaining lots on the south slope . The homes that have been constructed recently are in the $100 ,000 range . Olson Realty should be promoting this type of highly desirable construction, not a commercial building . Since a mound system is a possibility for these lots , we propose a re-zoning from C2 to residential . Also , a face- lift for the overgrown entrance plantings and a replacement of the dilapidated signs would help increase sales of lots . We are very upset that you would even entertain selling the lots with a commercial use in mind . There is neither the need nor the desire on the part of the residents to have such an obviously misplaced project on our subdivision . It would act as a magnet , bringing in people who do not live in the neighborhood and serve as a hang-out for our children , luring them with candy, pop and video games . We are shocked that you would go against everything Olson Realty has promoted in the past and what this neighborhood has meant to all of us . Before anything is finalized , we feel that you owe us the opportunity to speak out against this project in a meeting of all the homeowners and lot owners in American Heritage .
