Our records <br />indicate that two Native American mound groups have been repo --ted in Section 26(DA-0561 and <br />Thelma 13arbner Site) and two mound groups have been reported in Section 8 (DuPont Mo sr d <br />and Bram Mound Group) in the Town of Dunn. <br />The Town of Dunn needs to determine if mounds are present on the involved properties. 111,y <br />need to maintain the minimum 5 foot buffer zone from the boundaries of the mound(s)(or m+)re, <br />as determined by the Burial Sites Preservation Program) required under Wisconsin's Burial Sites <br />Preservation law. This applies to any construction activities, foot'vehicle traffic, and materials <br />storage. <br />Tf there are questions about mound location, a representative frorr the Burial Sites Preservf ti 3n <br />Program, or an qualified archaeologist, should be contacted to fla,; the boundaries of the <br />mound(s). <br />If bone is exposed during construction, excavation or any other V ound disturbing activities, ALS <br />work must stop and the Burial Sites office must be contacted for ,, n on site evaluation. <br />The Burial Sites Preservation Program was created in 1987 and is responsible for locating and <br />cataloging all human burials. Please note that disturbance includf•s defacing, mutilating, injuring, <br />exposing, removing, destroying, desecrating or molesting a burial. <br />The applicant is responsible for complying with all aspects of the Burial Sites Preservation le w <br />and. should be aware that, even if the permit is granted, no disturbance can occur to any mounds <br />on the property.
